Baby Lemur 182circle

Our young lemurs have been named by their keepers! Born in April & May, they have been named after ice lollies to go with this beautiful weather we’ve been having! Introducing Calippo, Magnum, Solero, Twister and Corneto!

The youngsters stuck close to their mums for the first few weeks but as these cheeky new arrivals have grown in size and confidence they been enjoying the chance to explore their home and have been spending their days playing with each other and their parents!

Mums Madison and Alina gave birth on 3rd April each welcoming a single offspring, followed by mum Lexi who gave birth on 4th April to twins. Our male in the group Anakin, is father to all of our recent arrivals and all 4 mums are being very attentive.

The births of our ring tailed Lemurs are very important to our breeding program as they are currently listed as Endangered (EN) on the IUCN Red List

See if you can spot these curious youngsters from the Madagascan Train or by the bridge over the lake.
