In January a Fiji Banded Iguana was transferred from Germany and we are delighted that he has settled nicely into his new home. We are excited to welcome this endangered reptile to Colchester Zoo in the hope that we may join the breeding program for this species in the future.

The Fiji banded iguana is spectacularly beautiful, the males have a emerald green body with vertical blue and light green stripes on his body and long tail. They can grow up to 80cm in length with their tail that makes up more than two thirds. They use their tail for balance as they climb amongst branches.

With so much to see and do Colchester Zoo is a great place to visit all year round!
