On the 1st July 2017 Colchester Zoo welcomed an adorable new arrival, Nala the Serval kitten!

Nala is being cared for by the keepers of our displays team and it is hoped as she grows older she will be introduced to our visitors during our daily Wild Displays.

Serval cats are tall, slender and have the longest legs relative to body size of any cat species! They also have large ears which are puurrfect (pardon the pun!) for listening out for small prey with!

This species is most commonly found in Africa; their spots vary in size and shape and can sometimes become large stripes on their backs.

Serval cats are currently listed as Least Concern on the IUCN red list.

*Please be aware that Nala is currently not visible to the public.
