Our white rhino calf Pembe is now 1 year old! As she continues to grow strong and healthy we are reminded of the danger of extinction her species are currently facing in the wild.

Pembe only wants one thing, for the unnecessary poaching of her species to stop. Pembe is doing her bit - she is an ambassador for spreading the word about the poaching crisis as her name represents the Swahili meaning for 'horn' and will also hopefully grow on to become a part of a successful breeding programme just like Cynthia whose calf is due to be born this summer at Colchester Zoo.

Help make Pembe’s wish come true by signing this petition to help save the rhino population or visit www.savetherhino.org and see how you can get involved or simply donate.
