We’re pleased to announce that we have welcomed a number of penguin chicks who hatched out throughout April & May within our two Humboldt penguin groups!

Whilst the chicks are still young our keepers keep a close eye on them and are weighing them daily to make sure they are growing healthy and strong.

Our new arrivals are currently still in their nest boxes during these early days so cannot be seen just yet but we're sure it won't be look before they begin to fledge and explore their new home!

Did you know Humboldt penguins are named after the cold current of water running from the Antarctic to the equator!? This current itself was named after the German naturalist Friedrich Humboldt.

Check back soon for more information on our chicks!
