Year of the Bear Animation
In the spring of 2014, Graphic Arts students at Colchester Institute started work on an animation project that would celebrate Colchester Zoo's Year of the Bear.
By filming and observing the Sun bears in there old and brand new homes within the zoo, the students set out to capture the idea of moving house through the bears charateristic and natural movements. Each frame is individually recreated by hand which contributes to a long but ultimately rewarding animation process.
The students and Colchester asked visitors to get involved by submitting their own frames which was a great way of getting the community involved in this greta project.
