How to grow your own egg carton seedlings
During Spring many plants and flowers begin to grow and it is an ideal time to plant your own seedlings! To protect them from the elements during their first weeks why not plant them in an egg carton!
What you will need:
- Empty biodegradable egg carton
- Seeds - vegetable seeds are ideal!
Adult supervision is required throughout this task.
When to make it:
Approximately 20 minutes to make.
Poke a small hole in the bottom of each egg cup
Spray your soil with water to moisten and pack it into each of the egg cups
Make a small well in each cup and place your seed into the well and cover.
Place your egg carton in a warm well-lit area such as a window sill and keep the soil damp.
Once your seeds have sprouted, you can transfer them to a permanent location outside!
You can continue to do this with all sorts of seeds from tomotoes to sunflowers!
