Our young aardvark has been confirmed as male and his keepers have since called him Ottis!

Ottis was born on the 23^rd March to Mum Oq and Dad Afer, he continues to grow strong and healthy and has now been full introduced to the group who he shares the burrow with. Ottis is Afer’s first offspring since arriving at Colchester Zoo in April 2017 after breeding successfully in his previous years. Afer turns a grand old age (for an Aardvark!) of 27 this year.

Ottis continues to grow strong and healthy and is spending his days curled up with the rest of our group.
