We are now underway with phase 1 of the redevelopment of Lion Rock to expand and enhance our pride of African Lion’s home. This redevelopment also includes redevelopment of the black and white colobus monkey enclosure situated next door. We are redeveloping the colobus home not only to enhance their living area but this will also allow us to make the changes we have planned to Lion Rock.

The black and white colobus monkeys have been temporarily moved to the Kingdom of the Wild building, next to the Patas monkeys, whilst this project is underway.

The redevelopment of Lion Rock will include a new behind the scenes area for our lion keepers to assist with the husbandry care for this amazing species. We are also hoping to install a heated cave for the lions to reside in as well as planning exciting additional viewing for visitors – watch this space!

Follow the development on this project online through our website and social media channels!
